What a handsome devil he is! Hope the first night wasn’t too stressful. Facilities are now fully available at his holiday home should he require a visit and Great Grandad is looking forward to meeting the new family addition.
Notice how he’s chewing my slipper, instead of the bone which was purchased specifically for chewing???
He’s been remarkably good for the first couple of nights thanks to Mark’s innate parenting skills. The crying is a bit traumatic and I can’t say we’ve had more than a couple of hours of uninterrupted sleep but we just have to keep reminding ourselves it’s good practice for when we have kids!
Hmm – pets or babies. Interesting debate. I often think that maybe we’ll stick with our cat and fish (who somehow has miraculously survived her daily attempts to poke him for the past two years!). But then again, kids are fun!!
I must admit that the first three days of having Todd have been a lot more exhuasting than I had bargained for. Introducing a new puppy to the home, whilst simulataneously trying to do my work, tend to the needs of our cats, and keep the house semi-tidy, has been a challenge.
The good thing is that it’s totally worth it, and also that it means there’s no way we’ll be underestimating the commitment required to have a baby. I think the one big difference with having a baby to having a new pet is that the mother can stay home and dedicate her time to looking after the baby (should she choose to, of course), whereas I’m juggling the demands of the pets with the demands of my job.
