Mark#40 – Puppy Update: Meet Todd’s Parents

So at the time of writing the last puppy update, we’d got as far as deciding that we wanted a flat-coated retriever…well things have developed rapidly since then.

We found a fantastic breeder and have scored ourselves a pup of the highest pedigree. In fact, his grandfather, ‘Gibson’, is a former international flat-coat champion no less.

Knowing that we definitely were getting a male dog meant we could finally decide on a name. I campaigned hard for ‘Scraps’, but ultimately failed thanks to April’s insistence that he have a more human name. So in the end, we settled on ‘Todd’!

Todd comes home on March 3rd, when he is 7 weeks old and ready to leave his mother, but we did go and visit the entire litter and parents, Jazz and Peggy, a couple of weeks ago.

And now, thanks to the miracle of digital photography, you can meet them too:

Ohhhh, I want one! Congratulations on the new addition!

  2. markandapril says:

    Get one, Goblet, get one!!!

You have a nice big house, you love animals, it would be a match made in doggy heaven.

You should ask Barry tonight…he’ll be in a good mood because Liverpool have just beaten Barcelona!

  3. i’m liking the idea of having a dog actually.
But then my pragmatic side kicks in with 3 or 4 reasons why I shouldn’t bother (yet)

You need to get yourself a good dose of impulsiveness Gooders.

  5. Sheri says:

Unfortunately abbey will be angry. After the spencer incident, we won’t be adding any more animals to our household…

Barry’s heading to England this Friday. He’s going to the Man U-Liverpool game on Sat and the Liverpool-Barca game next week. He’s going with his dad for his 30th birthday. Not too shabby, huh?

  6. Lucky boy…though he’ll probably come back in a bad mood after they lose those two games!

I don’t know the ‘Spencer incident’, but I’m intrigued.

  7. Sheri says:

Yeah right. He’s pretty optimistic, hopefully they won’t let him down. Go reds!!

Spencer was the psycho kitten that drove Abbey to a stress-related urinary infection. The option the vet gave was to drug Abbey (great option!) or give away Spencer. Since he was nuts and driving us crazy, we had to give him up since he was last in the door…

  8. gooders says:

    here you go:

hope this doesn’t happen with toddy woddy

  9. markandapril says:

Ha ha, just saw this on theplez and promptly forwarded to April.

I am confident there will be much more violence than that portrayed in the video.

Gooders, perhaps you should come up and video the first meeting?

  10. gooders says:

yeah could do. i have a perfect camera function for the job actually
